Ethel M. Byers, 93, of Shippensburg, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 in the Orrstown Personal Care Home.

She was born June 30, 1927 in Lewistown, PA. Ethel was a daughter of the late Samuel W. and Catherine F. (Baughman) Henry.

She retired from the Beistle Company in 1986. Ethel was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church, Shippensburg. She was a 1945 graduate of the Chambersburg High School.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Byers, Sr. who passed away May 23, 2018. Two brothers and one sister are also deceased.

She is survived by one son, John D. Byers, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Shippensburg, one daughter, Catherine E. Mowery and her husband Dennis of Monroe, NC, four grandchildren, James D. Byers, Amy C. Craig, J.D. Byers and Andrew R. Mowery, six great-grandchildren, Owen Jared Shapiro, Shiloh Waddell, Cameron D. Byers, Bryson D. Byers, Peyton J. Craig and Jaxon D. Carbaugh, one niece, Stephanie Coffey and one nephew, Daniel Henry.

Private graveside services will be held in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. There will be no viewing or visitation.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Children’s Hospital, 1249 Cocoa Ave. Suite 115, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033-0852 or www.fourdiamonds.org.
