Esther E. Walter, 90, of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the home of her daughter.Born August 28, 1921 In Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Edith Gettle Hall.Esther drove school bus for her brother at Shippensburg Area School District, then worked at Shirt Craft in Shippensburg and retired in 1981 from Letterkenny Army Depot where she was the head cook.She was a life member of the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren, sang in their choir and in a trio with her sister and niece. Esther enjoyed knitting, gardening, and traveling.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester B. Noaker, her second husband, Robert Samuel Walter, and three siblings, Arthur and Elmer Hall, and Helen Mangle.She is survived by one daughter, Patricia M. Appleby and her husband Ronald of Shippensburg, four step-daughters, Martha Kling and her husband Thomas of Orrstown, Nancy Richardson and her husband Jerry, and Janet Deck and her husband George all of Shippensburg, and Bobbi Delaney of Boston, MA, two grandchildren, Pamela Pierce and her husband Mark of Alden, MI, and Paula Morris and her husband Nick of Shippensburg, three great grandchildren, Nicholas, Jr. and Mae Morris, and Jasmine Hockley, and numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Wayne A. Hall and The Rev. Harold E. Yeager. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.The family requests the omission of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren Choir, 253 East Garfield Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257.Online condolences may be made to www.fogelsanger-brickerfuneralhome.com
