Esther L. Tosten, 76, of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, December 9, 2014 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
She was born April 25, 1938 in Newburg, Cumberland County. Esther was a daughter of the late Clarence W. Sr. and Violet Vaughn Holtry. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John H. Holtry.
Esther was a member of the Ridge Church of the Brethren, Shippensburg, a member of their Women’s Fellowship, and taught Sunday School for 54 years. She retired from Cressler’s Fruit Market after 30 years of employment. Esther was a 1956 graduate of the former Shippensburg High School.
She is survived by her husband, Harry W. Tosten, one brother, Clarence W. (Mrs. Vivian) Holtry, Jr., and a sister-in-law, May Holtry all of Shippensburg.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 13, 2014 in the Ridge Church of the Brethren, Shippensburg at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Earl F. Stovall and Rev. Timothy Tosten. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg, and one hour prior to the services in church Saturday morning.
