Esther June Diehl Pugh, 87, of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 10, 1927 in Letterkenny Township, Franklin County. Esther was a daughter of the late George M., Sr. and Hazel Ruth Myers Diehl. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Grace R. Mackey, and two brothers, Harold L. Diehl and George M. Diehl, Jr.
She was a member of Orrstown United Brethren Church. During Esther’s younger years she worked at the former Shirtcraft, L’aiglon, Nettie Frock Companies and more recently she partnered with her husband as a distributor of W.T. Rawleigh Products.
Esther is survived by her husband, Raymond I. Pugh and celebrated 65 years of marriage with him on May 11, 2014, three children, Ray A. (Suzanne) Pugh of Chambersburg, Cheryl A. (John) Runshaw of Shippensburg, and William D. (Denise) Pugh of Chambersburg, ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, two sisters, Dorothy I. Zullinger of Chambersburg, and Gladys R. Horst of Shippensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Mongul United Brethren Church. Officiating will be The Rev. Kenneth E. Williamson and The Rev. John W. Runshaw. Burial will be in Pleasant Hall Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday evening in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg from 7-9 p.m. and one hour prior to the services in the church Saturday morning.
