Esther Mae Parson, 65, of Britton Road, Shippensburg, died Monday, April 4, 2011 in Holy Spirit Hospital.
Born June 15, 1945 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Wilbur A. and Helen C. Holtry Myers.
Esther retired in 1996 from the former Greif Clothing Factory in Shippensburg as a seamstress. She was a member of the Shippensburg Church of the Nazarene and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 Shippensburg. She was an avid gardener and painter, enjoyed crafts, and going to the beach, although her real love was nature.
Surviving is her husband of 14 years Charles H. Parson, one son; Scott A. Ott and his wife Jessica, two daughters; Katrina L. Kistler and her husband Thomas and Tonya R. Sheaffer and her husband Raymond all of Shippensburg, twelve grand-children and six great grandchildren. Esther is also survived by her mother in-law Zada K. Parson, Shippensburg, two step-sons; Gregory C. Parson, Shippensburg and Scott D. Parson, Chambersburg, three sisters; Delores Ocker, Judy Stine and Romaine Jones, two brothers; Roy and Gerald Myers all of Shippensburg and several nieces and nephews.
In addition her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Richard Bradley Ott, one daughter, Jamie Sue Myers, three sisters, June Zinn, Twyla Lynch and Connie Myers and one brother, Eugene Myers.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. Shippensburg, with the Rev. Todd A. Risser officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewings will be held Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Friday, in the funeral home.
