Esther E. Kelley, 84, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Thursday, December 13, 2018, at the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on December 2, 1934, in Newville, a daughter of the late Archie J. and Ida A. Jumper Doyle and married Paul J. Kelley on October 10, 1954, in Hagerstown, MD.
Esther was a homemaker throughout her life. Her family was of the utmost importance to her. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and grandmother, who took great pride in maintaining a neat and tidy home. Esther also enjoyed spending time in her flower gardens and listening to country music.
She was a member of the Shippensburg Church of Christ and spent her life as a very devout Christian. Esther loved the Lord, praising God, going to church, and all of her church friends. She and Paul always prayed together before going to bed at night.
In addition to her husband of sixty-four years, Paul; she is survived by two daughters, Barbara D. Bracken on Orrstown and Brenda L. (Glen) Reed of Shippensburg; two grandchildren, Neal Shannon and Megan Reed both of Shippensburg; great grandson, Jayden Shannon of Shippensburg; three brothers, Glenn Doyle of Newburg, Fred Doyle of Shippensburg, and Jay Doyle of Shippensburg; two sisters, Evelyn Kelley of Carlisle and Kaeron Pugh of Shippensburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by one sister in infancy.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Mr. Dennis Adams will officiate. There will be no public viewing or visitation.
