Ernest Gutshall

Ernest F. Gutshall, 91, a resident of Green Ridge Village, Newville formerly of Shippensburg, died Friday, January 27, 2012 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born August 24, 1920 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Charles and Myrtle Ulrich Gutshall.
He was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church in Shippensburg and retired from Shippensburg University in 1982. Mr. Gutshall worked construction prior to working at Shippensburg University. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son, Larry R. Gutshall who died November 7, 1999, and four brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife Violet E. “Posey” Gabler Gutshall who he married February 10, 1939, one son, Robert F. Gutshall and his wife Linda K. of Shippensburg, three grandchildren, Eric Gutshall of Chambersburg, Cathy Corle of Shippensburg, and Tammy Dillon of Springfield, IL, five great grandchildren, Kaylyn and Nicholas Yaukey, Noah Corle, and Brennah and Kaylee Dillon, and a great-great granddaughter, Raelyn Yaukey.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Kevin E. Hughes. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. There will be no viewing however a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home Wednesday afternoon.
