Erma K. Ferrell, 89, life-long resident of Orrstown, departed this life on the afternoon of Friday, June 12, 2020, at her home.
She was born on September 8, 1930, in Orrstown, a daughter of the late Harvey W. and Demma K. (Guyer) Kane, Sr. Her first husband John C. Ferrell preceded her in death on August 2, 2001. She married her second husband, Robert L. Cramer on December 31, 2019.
Erma worked as a weaver at the former Richards Textile; a packer at Knouse Foods; and a secretary for her son’s business, Ferrell’s Electric. In her younger years, she was once a Justice of the Peace and a Notary Public. Erma was always, first and foremost, a wonderful mother and homemaker who took pride in keeping a clean and tidy home.

One of her favorite pastimes was to gamble. She enjoyed greatly going to the clubs to play the fish bowls and BINGO. Erma loved attending local meat raffles and gun drawings. She hardly ever missed a day without having played scratch-off lottery tickets and always enjoyed a good game of cards. Erma once won the POWERBALL in its early years for $200,000. All of these were things that she enjoyed doing alongside her family and friends who will miss her and the times they shared greatly.
In addition to her husband, Erma is survived by five children, Barry C. Ferrell and wife Dorothy of Carlisle, Sherri R. Schouviller of Orrstown, Deena K. McNaughton of Orrstown, Rick E. Ferrell and wife Pam of Brogue, and John W.
