Erma R. Booz, 80, a resident of Green Ridge Village’s Chapelwood Unit, died on Wednesday, October 27, 2010.

Born on August 24, 1930, in Shippensburg, PA, a daughter of the late Luther William and Beulah Priscilla Bistline Karper, Jr.

On April 1, 1949, Erma married Mr. Richard E. Booz, in Camp Hill, PA. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2009.

For the majority of her life, Erma was a self employed baby sitter, working out of her home. Previously, she had worked at Shirtcraft and Karper Builders, both formerly of Shippensburg.

Erma was a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God, and was active in the Senior Life Choir, and also served as the Superintendant of the Children’s Sunday School Department. She was also active in the Shippensburg Area Jaycetts, and was a former Cub Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah A. Booz of Shippensburg; four grandchildren, Christoper R. (Sara) Booz of Pittsburgh, Brendon J. (Johnnie) Booz of Harrisburg, Joshua C. (Alicia) Booz of Pittsburgh, and Emily A. (Michael) Winsand of Ft. Bragg, NC; five great grandchildren, Isabella, Austin, Giavanna, Noah, and Zachary; one brother, Glenn Carl (Norma J.) Karper of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Margaret Alice (Jimmy Don) Comer of Texas; her daughter in law, Ann M. Booz of Pittsburgh, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Richard E. Booz, Jr.; three brothers, Luther William Karper III, Paul Howard Karper, and Galen J. Karper; and one sister, Helen G. Karper.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Stanley Darrah and Pastor Heidi Guyer will officiate. Interment will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the services on Tuesday, at the funeral home.
