Emma A. Mason, 75, of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, May 23, in the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born April 14, 1938 in Scotland, PA. Emma was a daughter of the late David Edward and Alice Gail Carmack Furry.
She was a retired cook at the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, Shippensburg and was a member of their Ladies Auxiliary. Emma was a member and current treasurer of the Shippensburg Golden Age Club.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Diane Redcay. Two brothers, John and David “Bub” Furry, and two sisters, Madeline Parr, and Janet Betz are also deceased.
Emma is survived by two sons, Sherman R. Mason and his wife Brenda, and David L. Mason and his wife Rose all of Shippensburg, four daughters, Doris J. Mason of Chambersburg, Tammy L. Shields and her husband Dennis of Upper Strasburg, Sindy K. Sanders and her husband Charles of Fayetteville, and Brenda J. Zinn and her husband Mark of Newville, two sisters, Dorothy Parr of Fayetteville, and Nancy Faircloth of West Virginia, a brother-in-law, Ralph Betz of Shippensburg, a sister-in-law, Bertha Furry of Fayetteville, 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 2 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Timothy Vaughn. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home on Wednesday.
