Elmer H. Weaver, 85, of Shippensburg, died Sunday, March 8, 2015 in Menno Haven, Chambersburg.
He was born July 27, 1929 in Bowmansville, Lancaster County, PA. Elmer was the son of the late Elmer W. and Emma M. Horning Weaver. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Good Weaver who died May 20, 1985.
Elmer was a lifelong dairy farmer. He was a member of Rowe Mennonite Church, Shippensburg where he was a past Sunday School Teacher, and Song Leader. Previously he was a member of the Diller Mennonite Church, Newville where he was a Trustee, Song Leader and a member of their Building Committee. Elmer loved to sing and taught young men how to be Song Leaders in Church.
Elmer is survived by his wife, Anna Mary Wadel Weaver who he married February 14, 1987, four children, Stephen K. (Cindy) Weaver of Coopersburg, Emmy Beth (David) Gerber of Ft. Francis, Ontario, Jerome D. (Karen) Weaver of Shippensburg, and Herbert G. (Deborah) Weaver of Shippensburg, one sister, Elva (Paul) Livengood of Manheim, twelve grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Viewings will be held Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Rowe Mennonite Church, Shippensburg. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 13, 2015 in the Newville First Church of God at 10:00 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Diller Mennonite Church Cemetery, Newville. The Ministry of Rowe Mennonite Church will officiate.
