Elmer Ressler, 86, of Shippensburg, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011.
Born August 7, 1925 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late Amos and Martha Shindledecker Ressler.
He was a member of the Prince Street United Brethren Church. Elmer was a retired dairy farmer and a United States Army Veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Romaine M. Hock Ressler, two sons, Dennis Ressler of Hope, Alaska, and Frank Ressler and his wife Tammy of Shippensburg, four grandchildren, Cheyenne, Nicole, Cory, and Nathan Ressler, and one sister, Lillian Gorman of Chambersburg.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 24, 2011 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. James O. Bolich. Burial with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion Posts will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home Saturday morning.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Prince Street United Brethren Church, 20 N. Penn St., Shippensburg, PA 17257.
