Elmer R. Flory, Sr., 74, of Shippensburg, died Friday, August 23, 2013 in the Shippensburg Health Care Center.
Born Wednesday, October 12, 1938 in Mainsville, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Virgie E. Adams Flory.
Elmer attended the Mt. Tabor Brethren in Christ Church in Newburg and the Freedom in Christ Church in Chambersburg.
Elmer retired in 2002 from T.B. Woods in Chambersburg after 28 years of service. He was an avid hunter and NASCAR Fan.
Surviving is his wife of 23 years Linda C. Robinson Flory, one daughter, Pamela S. Deshong of Chambersburg, two sons; Elmer R. Flory, Jr., and his wife Robin of Dry Run, and Joseph W. Flory and his companion Shelly of Newville, one step-son, George Champlin of Shippensburg, two sisters,; Marguerite Flory of Shippensburg and Charlotte Fisher of Chambersburg, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, America Champlin and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Hastings Flory who died in 1984, two brothers; Emory and Charles Flory, three sisters; Catherine Keefer, Mildred Jumper and Lois Shenk.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. David S. Halteman and Chaplain Casey P. Hurst officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
