Ellis “Abe” Myers, 84, of Amberson, left this life peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 2, 2022 as he entered eternal rest with his Lord.
Born Saturday, February 26, 1938 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Boyd and Blanche Alleman Myers of Roxbury, PA.
Abe was a member of the Amberson United Methodist Church.
He worked at the former United Telephone Company for many years before working for the Pennsylvania Turnpike where he retired in 1998 after 25 years of service.
Abe was a member of the Amberson Valley Cattlemen’s Association, and a member of the Cumberland Valley Woodcarvers Association. He loved woodcrafting and shared his amazing God given talent. He loved to hunt and camp but fishing was his main outdoor hobby alongside his wife Patsy.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Patsy Carroll Myers; one son, Jeffrey W. Myers, Amberson; three sisters, Kathryn Miner, Sally Crider, and Molly Shoemaker.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kelley Sue Myers; six brothers, John, Dave, Arthur, Harry, Jerry, Charles (Jack); and four sisters, Esther Kuhn, Helen Stevens, Berdella Gipe, and Edna Ryder.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., with Pastor Phil Foster officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday in the funeral home.
