Elizabeth M. “Libby” Tourney 98, lifelong resident of Newburg PA, entered through the gates of heaven on Sunday October 7, 2018. Libby was a woman of strong faith and it showed very much through her walk of life.
Libby was born June 19, 1920, the daughter of the late James H. & Mabel (Paxton) Stuck and is the widow of the late Jack W. Tourney who preceded her in death on January 6, 2006.
Libby was a homemaker throughout her life. She enjoyed reading her Bible on a daily basis until she could no longer see the words, visits from friends and family, going on the road and seeing the country with her late husband when he drove tractor and trailer. She also enjoyed hunting and square dancing in her younger years. She was such a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother to her family. Her greatest joy was helping to take care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved listening to the old country tunes and going along golfing with her family.
She was a long-time member of the Newburg First Church of God.
She is survived by her two sons: H. Lee Wilson (Sharon Smith) of Shippensburg, and Greg W. (Linda) Tourney of Greencastle; two daughters, Kay J. (Hank Jr.) Baker of Orrstown and Kim D. (Paul) Yohe; nine grandchildren Mike (Carrie) Wilson, Kevin (Erica) Wilson, Brian Wilson, Chel (Daniel) Lavoie, Beth (Bob Carnell, Sam Tourney, Hope (Chad) Strite, Mandy (Jordan) Rudisill and Jessie Rife;13 great grandchildren, Anna & Garrett Wilson, Kyler Wilson, Caleb Lavoie, Benjamin, Blade and Briar Carnell, Annsley, Braxton and Whitley Strite, Christian Souders, Sophia Rudisill and Cameron Rife. She is also survived by one brother, Jim (Carol) Stuck of Tucson, AZ.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Newburg First Church of God at 260 Newburg Road Newburg, PA 17240 with viewing from 1 pm – 2 pm. Pastor Jim Moss Jr. and Pastor Kevin Dunlap will officiate. Interment will follow in the Otterbein Cemetery. Viewing will be October 10, 2018 from 6 pm – 8 pm at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. Shippensburg, PA 17257.
