Elizabeth D. Myers, 93, of Shippensburg, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 in her home.
She was born February 9, 1922 in Shippensburg, Franklin County. Elizabeth was a daughter of the late Samuel W. and Velva Commerer Diehl.
She was a former member of the Memorial Lutheran Church and a current member of the Middle Spring Presbyterian Church in Shippensburg.
Elizabeth retired in 1986 from the Letterkenny Army Depot and many years ago was a manager of the former Silco Junior Department Store in Shippensburg. She was a 1940 graduate of the Shippensburg High School and was a member of the Franklin County Women’s Democratic Club. Elizabeth was the first Woman Director of the Shippensburg Chamber of Commerce.
In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn A. Myers who died September 19, 1979. Her brother, John C. Diehl and his wife Pauline are also deceased.
Elizabeth is survived by a sister, Peggy Dunlap and her husband Carl, and a foster brother, George Plumb and his wife Doris all of Shippensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 27, 2015 in the Middle Spring Presbyterian Church at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Kimberley Wadlington and Rev. Steven Fleming. A viewing will be held Thursday evening in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg from 6-8 p.m. There will be no viewing at Church on Friday.
