Elizabeth Diane McCoy

Elizabeth Diane (Estep) McCoy, 78, of Shippensburg, passed away the evening of Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Providence Place of Chambersburg. 

She was born on Sunday, July 21, 1946 in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late Dean W. and Betty E. (Etter) Estep, Sr.

Diane was a 1964 graduate of the Chambersburg High School and member of the VFW Post #6168. She retired as a secretary from the Dunham US Army Health Clinic at Carlisle Barracks. She loved crafting, especially making wreaths and flower arrangements. Diane was also skilled in quilting, sewing, and crocheting. A plant enthusiast, she took great pride in gardening and taking care of her plants. Anyone who knew Diane, knew amongst all her hobbies and interests, shopping was her favorite. Above all else in life, she loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. 

She is survived by one daughter, Amy D. Heckman and husband Mark of Chambersburg; one stepdaughter, Toni L. McMullen and husband Robert of Chambersburg; two grandchildren, Chase H. Heckman and Kendolynn M. Heckman; two nephews, Scott Estep and wife Cheryl of Chambersburg, and Dustin Estep and wife Kathy of Chambersburg; two great-nieces; one great-nephew; and her furry companion, Murphey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime partner, Harold E. “Mac” McMullen; and one brother, Dean W. Estep, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg with Pastor Denise Horn officiating. Burial will follow in the Roxbury Union Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
