Elizabeth V. Johnson, 89 of Upper Strasburg, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born June 20, 1922 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Wilbert Brindle and Ruth Davis.
Elizabeth was of the Protestant faith. She enjoyed reading, going to yard sales and raising her children. Elizabeth was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be sadly missed.
Surviving are one son, Randy L. Johnson of Shippensburg, six daughters, Betty G. Clever and her husband Ned, Wanda K. Davidson and her husband Gary and Joyce D. Kelley all of Orrstown, Cindy L. Perry, and Patricia A. Rhine and her husband Ray all of Upper Strasburg and Barbara J. Wiser and her husband Kenneth of Lurgan, one brother, George Brindle of Chambersburg, seven sisters, Ida Mae Brindle, Mary Ellen Spoonhour, Carrie Shear, Dorothy Winn and Hilda Fahnestock all of Chambersburg, Catherine Shields of Scotland and Carol Ann Laird of Pittsfield. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband Merle D. “Bob” Johnson who died January 14, 2003, and four brothers.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Marlin A. “Butch“ Neil officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
