Elizabeth B. “Libby” Ewan, 100, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Shippensburg, died Sunday, January 13, 2013 in Pittsburgh.

Born December 19, 1912 in Brooklyn, NY, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Melinda Naugle Blynn.

Libby was a member of Messiah United Methodist Church, Shippensburg. She retired from the former Shippensburg High School where she worked in the cafeteria. Libby also worked at the former Shirt Craft and L’Aiglon Companies. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion Posts, First Court Chapter # 470 Order of the Eastern Star, AARP # 2525, and the Shippensburg Senior Citizens Group.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles A. Ewan who died November 12, 1989, three brothers and two sisters are also deceased.

Libby is survived by her companion, George Emerson of Pittsburgh and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg. Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. Francis H. Norton. Private burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. There will be no viewing or visitation.
