Eleanor Grace Baer passed into eternal life peacefully at home attended by her husband of 65 years, Rev. Guy R. Baer.

She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chambersburg. Eleanor was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was deeply involved in the church all her life. Her passion and specialties were children’s Christian education and missions, which she pursued tirelessly for over 60 years. Eleanor held the office of President of United Methodist Women for the Central Pennsylvania and Susquehanna Conferences.

Eleanor was born in Scotland, Pennsylvania and was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margaret (Miller) Frey, and her foster parents, Edgar and Ruth Besore. She was also preceded in death by her three siblings, Charles, John and Irene (Frey) Statler.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, Rev. Guy R. Baer and their four children, The Rev. Dr. Timothy R. Baer (Ann) of Mechanicsburg, Karen S. Baer of Williamstown, Ruth A. Dietz (Chub) of Wexford and Kenneth D. Baer (Amy) of Mechanicsburg. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.

The celebration of Eleanor’s life will be held on Saturday September 12, 2020 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev John Kratz officiating. Family will receive friends at 10:00 with the service commencing at 11:00 followed by interment at Mongul cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Eleanor’s name to St. Paul UMC, 750 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
