Edwin B. “Eddie” Martin, Jr., 38, of Shippensburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on the morning of Sunday, June 17, 2018.
He was born on December 2, 1979, in Reading, a son of Edwin M. and Sarah H. Brubacher Martin and married Miriam Oberholtzer on April 21, 2002 at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite.
Eddie worked as a self-employed farmer and a pastor at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Shippensburg. He enjoyed living and raising his family on the family farm where he was raised. Eddie was a friend to all, and his passing has left a large void within his family and the community in which he served.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of sixteen years, Miriam; five children, Christina, Derek, Taylor, Thomas, and Dane, all at home; his parents, Edwin and Sarah Martin of Shippensburg; siblings, Timothy and Victoria Martin of Shippensburg, Mary and Brad Unruh of West Gate, IA, James and Beverly Martin of Hardin, MT, Barbara and Joe Martin of Dalton, OH, Ada Martin of Shippensburg, Allen and Heather Martin of Stanton, IA, Lucinda and Burnell Weaver of Shippensburg, Dorothy and Allen Newswanger of Spencer, TN, and Michael and Ashley Martin of Ronan, MT; his parents-in-law, Reuben and Minerva Oberholtzer of Shippensburg; three sisters-in-law, Lisa and Marvin Zimmerman of Newville, Lena and Kenton Unruh of Pryor, OK, and Mabel and Carl Unruh of Grafton, ND; five brothers-in-law, Gideon and Melissa Oberholtzer of Elkton, VA, Mervin and Lori Oberholtzer, Dennis and Mae Oberholtzer, Nathan and Benita Oberholtzer, and Michael and Emily Oberholtzer, all of Shippensburg; extended family, Ivan Horst of Shippensburg, Frantz and Jacqueline Merceron of Kidron, OH, Burt and Kyra Johnson of Shippensburg, and many nieces and nephews.
Eddie’s funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, June 22, 2018, at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Shippensburg, with the church ministry officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. Viewing will be Thursday, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and again from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the church, at 297 Goodhart Road Shippensburg, PA 17257.
