Edward Thrush

October 15, 1947 — February 26, 2013

Edward “Daniel” Thrush, 65, of Shippensburg, died on the morning of Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at the Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born on October 15, 1947, in Newburg, a son of the late Wayne and Martha Mellott Thrush.

Dan was employed at PPG Industries, Mt. Holly Springs, for thirty years, retiring in 2003.

He was a member of the Minnequa Social Club and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, both of Shippensburg. He liked to fish, hunt, butcher, and go to the produce auction, every Tuesday, when in season.

Dan is survived by his ex-wife, who he remained friends with, Jeannie Thrush; his son, Brian (Jamie) Thrush; his daughter, Tina Cook; two grandchildren, Blake Thrush and Megan Cook, all of Shippensburg; four brothers, Richard, Bill, Joe, and Mick Thrush; one sister, Catherine Worthington; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Jim Thrush; and three sisters, Martha Finkey, Jane Bowers, and Pat Kahely.

His viewing will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2013, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial services and interment will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association at 417 Phoenix Drive Chambersburg, PA 17201.
