Edward “Ed” Myers, 76, of Del Rio, Tennessee passed away at his home on the 6th of March from cardiac arrest.
Ed was born in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to Harold “Duke” Myers and Lois Myers (nèe Mellott) on 29 July 1947. He grew up in Shippensburg along with his two brothers, Robert and Fred.
He graduated from Shippensburg High School in 1967 and went on to marry his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Mary C. Pringle. They were married for 55 beautiful years.
In January of 1968, Ed joined the US Air Force and became an Aeromedical technician. He honorably served for 24 years, traveling all over the world and meeting some of the best people on the planet.
In 1971, Ed’s first child was born; his favorite son, James Daryl Myers, followed a few years later in 1974 by his favorite daughter, Koreen DeAnn Myers. He loved being a father and took the kids on many adventures to include camping, fishing, and touring castles in Europe.
Some of Ed’s favorite hobbies included fishing, woodworking, golf, and reading. He always had a story, or a joke, to make you laugh. Sometimes the jokes missed their mark, but we loved them anyway.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary; his two children, James (Angie) Myers of Satsuma, Florida, and Koreen (Bruce) Wark of Stafford, Virginia; 12 grandchildren: Tyler, Sydney, Brianna, Lindsey, Mason, Kegan, Jared, Courtney, Victoria, Kyle, Alexia, and Autumn; NINE great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert Myers; as well as beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Family and friends are welcome to join us at Foglesanger-Bricker Funeral Home, in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, on 25 March at 2pm for the viewing, and 3pm for the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Ronald McDonald House, or the Shriner’s Hospital.
