Edna Bell Smith Thrush, 89, of Shippensburg, and a resident at Manor Care, Carlisle, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015 in the home.
Born July 23, 1926, in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late James Brady and Meda Francis Shank Smith.
Edna was a 1945 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. She retired from the former Carlisle Tire & Rubber. Edna was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Shippensburg. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Edna was an excellent cook. She loved and cherished her family.
Surviving are three daughters, Carma L. (Gary) Cooley, of Shippensburg, Sally A. (Ron) Cline, of Palmyra, and Barbara K. (Boyd) Jumper, of Shippensburg, four grandchildren, Marsha L. Walker, Trisha L. Frohm, Nathan E. Cline, and Aaron L. Cline, and seven great grandchildren, Adam & Ashley Eyer, Justin & Brittany Walker, Phillip & Taylor Frohm, and Alex Cline.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn, and Chester Smith, and two sisters, Alma Cohick, and Corynn Wadel.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 23, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. in the Grace United Church of Christ, with the Rev. George W. Heckard officiating. Burial will be private. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church.
