Edna Burkholder

Edna S. Burkholder, 66, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Saturday, December 2, 2017, at her home.
She was born on October 23, 1951, in Ephrata, Lancaster County, a daughter of the late Moses and Lizzie Shirk Zimmerman. Edna married Raymond M. Burkholder on February 21, 1974 in Ephrata. He preceded her in death on December 15, 2015.
Enda was a homemaker, a driver for area Mennonite families, a quilter, and was a member of the Oakville Mennonite Church, Newville.
She is survived by her two children, Michael R. (Renee) Burkholder of East Earl and Kristine F. (Dale) Weiler of Lebanon; nine grandchildren; six siblings, Elmer (Emma) Zimmerman of Manheim, Henry (Katie) Zimmerman of Lititz, Emma Wood of Ocala, FL, Moses (Wilma) Zimmerman of Kutztown, Levi (Verna) Zimmerman of Ephrata, and Amon (Irene) Zimmerman of Spencer, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and spouse, Edna was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Zimmerman.
Her funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Thursday, December 7, 2017, at the Oakville Mennonite Church on Willis Road, Newville, PA 17241. The Oakville Mennonite Church ministry will officiate. Interment will occur in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and also from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the church.
Edna’s family kindly requests the omission of flowers.
