Edmond Carl Weaver, 81, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the morning of Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 12, 1943, in Chambersburg, a son of the late William C. and Edna V. (Burkholder) Weaver. Edmond married Marjorie Perry on November 1, 1964, in Shippensburg.
Edmond worked as a general contractor alongside his family as part of the well-known Weaver Brother Builders. His specialty was in masonry, which he did for the vast majority of his life.
Edmond grew up playing softball and working in masonry. He enjoyed wood working, listening to bluegrass music, riding motorcycles at Daytona Bike Week, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife of sixty years, Marjorie, he is survived by two daughters, Connie (Weaver) Shotts and husband Douglas of Shippensburg, and Stephanie (Weaver) Swanger and husband Michael of Shippensburg; four grandchildren, Amanda Shotts and fiance’ Matthew Robertson of Shippensburg, Lauren Shotts-Espy and husband Kennan of Wilmington, NC, Megan (Swanger) Miller and husband Travis of Shippensburg, and Edmond Swanger and wife Erica of Chambersburg; a great grandson, Camden Robertson of Shippensburg; his sister, Juanita (Weaver) Sprecher of Fresno, CA; and many loved nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, Edmond was preceded in death by four brothers, Benjamin, William, Donald, and Theodore.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday March 3, 2025, in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Jeremy Garman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Viewing will be Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, as Edmond’s family says he had a heart of gold.
