Edgar R. “Eddie” Polk, 69, of Shippensburg, passed away the afternoon of Saturday, November 19, 2022.
He was born on December 23, 1952 in Chambersburg, a son of the late Ed Peters and Martha Polk.
Eddie was a member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post #6168, American Legion Post #46, and the First United Methodist Church of Chambersburg. He was an avid Harley Davidson fan and was a member of the Chambersburg American Legion Riders. Eddie loved to hunt and fish, but his greatest pride and joy in life were his great-nephews and great-niece, Draven, Koen, Maddox, Griffin, Kam, and Madison. He was also a United States Army Veteran, serving during the Vietnam War Era.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Candace M. Polk; four siblings, Louise (Terry) Appleby, Virginia (Dennis) Miley, Dixie (Bill) Williams, and Karen Sue Polk; nephews, Jason (Laurie) Shultz, Dustin (Amy) Shultz, and Nick (Barbara) DeCarlo; nieces, Kndra Baxter and Crystal (fiancé Howie) Miley; and six special great-nephews and great-niece, Draven Shultz, Koen Shultz, Maddox Shultz, Griffin Shultz, Kam Baxter, and Madison Shultz.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Lisa Williams; and maternal grandparents, Catherine and David Polk.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Steve Livermore, Rev. Dr. Diane Salters, and Mrs. Laura Bulger will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mongul Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Minutemen of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223. A viewing will be held Sunday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
