Earl Russell

Earl R. Russell, 82 of Shippensburg, died Saturday, April 23, 2011 in his home.

Born March 5, 1929 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late George W. and Florence E. Durff Russell.

He retired from SKF Industries in Shippensburg and for many years drove bus for the McBeth Bus Company in Walnut Bottom. Earl attended the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Shippensburg and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 in Shippensburg and was a graduate of the former Shippensburg High School.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie E. West Russell, two daughters; Karen E. Smith and her husband David of Manassas, VA, and Jannifer N. Diehl and her husband Daniel of Fayetteville, one grandson, Andrew W. Diehl of Fayetteville, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2011 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Ronald E. Dull. Burial will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. The viewing will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
