Dorsey “Jake” Ordway, 86, of Shippensburg passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
He was born July 11, 1929 in Shippensburg. Jake was a son of the late Dorsey L. and Gail Reath Ordway.
He retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg. Jake was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge # 842, Chambersburg, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223, Shippensburg, and was an avid bowler. He was in the Army National Guard.
Jake is survived by his wife, Faye M. Strayer Ordway, two children, Winifred L. Margolis of Enterprise, AL, and Michael E. Ordway and his wife Janet of Newton, AL, five grandchildren, Joshua Margolis, Lori O’Connor, Melanie Crooks, Brian Ordway, and Jennifer Anderson, seven great grandchildren, Brent and William Ordway, Shane Marler, Alexis and Olivia Crooks, and, Matthew and Meagan Anderson, one sister, Bonnie Frey of Shippensburg, four brothers, Cecil Ordway of East Norriton, PA, Lamar Ordway of Carlisle, Richard Ordway, and Ronald Ordway both of Shippensburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 4, 2016 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg at 1 p.m. with The Rev. James O. Bolich officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
