Dorothy W. “Dot” Warren, 90, of Mainsville, died on the afternoon of Saturday, February 16, 2013, at her home.
She was born on August 6, 1922, in Upper Strasburg, Franklin Co., the daughter of the late Harry H. and Helen Oyer Sollenberger, Sr. On October 28, 1940, Dot married Mr. James A. Warren, Sr., in Hagerstown, MD. Her beloved husband of 45 years preceded her in death on November 1, 1985.
Dot was employed as a cook, by the Shippensburg Area School District at the Mainsville Elementary School and also for many years at Diffy’s Drive-In.
In her free time, she liked to do a lot of reading and always loved spending time with family, especially all of her grandchildren.
A treasured mother and grandmother, Dot is survived by her son, James A. Warren, Jr. of Shippensburg; two daughters, Christine A. (David) Heagy of Atlanta, GA and Pamela K. (Thomas) Fogelsonger of Indiana, PA; six grandchildren, Tracy Cruz, Eric Warren, Carri, Jamie, and Kylie Fogelsonger, and Sarah Heagy; eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Sollenberger, Jr.
Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Friday, February 22, 2013, at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg. Chaplin John Winckler will officiate. Interment will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday, at the funeral home.
