Dorothy Sweitzer

Dorothy Mae Sweitzer, 87, of Shippensburg, died Friday, January 28, 2011 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born July 31, 1923 in Orrstown, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Levi Franklin and Alice V. Snoke Porter.
She retired from the housekeeping department of Howard Johnsons Motor Lodge in York after 19 years of employment.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ira M. Shields and her second husband, Elvers “Pat” Howard Sweitzer, four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by a brother, William C. Porter, Shippensburg, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 3, 2011 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg at 11 a.m. Officiating will be The Rev. Dr. Brenda J. Kiser. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home on Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Episcopal Home, 206 East Burd Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
