Dorothy L. “Dot” Reddig, 89, of Fayetteville, and formerly of Shippensburg, died Monday, January 21, 2013 in the Village of Laurel Run.
Born August 8, 1923 in Lurgan Township, Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Brinton D. and Velma Alloway Laidig.
Dot retired in 1993 from the Shippensburg University Book Store, where she was employed for 22 years.
She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Ladies Auxiliary of Durff-Kuhn VFW Post #6168, Ft Morris Chapter #3324 AARP, Shippensburg Civic Club, Shippensburg Historical Society, and a member for over 60 years of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was a graduate of the former Chambersburg Business College.
She was the widow of Walter B. Reddig who died February 18, 1969.
Dot is survived by two sons, Frederick A. Reddig of Mt. Holly Springs and David L. Reddig and wife Linda of Shippensburg , two daughters, Deborah Brenize and husband Richard of Shippensburg and Nan E. Hogan and husband Rich of Fayetteville; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Reddig of Shippensburg; a brother, Kermit M. Laidig and wife Jean of Newville; seven grandchildren, Julie, Jonathon, Jennifer, Walter, Ashley, Alexander, and Allison; and a great granddaughter, Quinn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 11 AM in the Grace United Church of Christ, Shippensburg. The Rev. George W. Heckard will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be Friday from 6 to 8 PM in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., Shippensburg.
