Dorothy M. Helman, 83, a resident at Providence Place and formerly of 122 Willow Drive, Shippensburg, died Thursday, April 22, 2010 in the home.
Born August 28, 1926 in Greene Township, Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Mary Rebecca Gontz Mooney.
Dorothy retired in 1981 from Letterkenny Army Depot as a Systems analyst. She attended the Prince Street United Brethren Church in Shippensburg. She was a member of NARFE and AARP local chapters, loved cooking and enjoyed taking care of her grandson Kyler
Surviving is a son; Dennis R. Helman and his wife Vicki, a sister; Mary R. Snoke, a brother; Verne Mooney all of Chambersburg, one granddaughter; Erika J. Wilson and her husband Kevin and one great grandson; Kyler W. Wilson all of Orrstown and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, William H. Helman who died April 5, 2008, five brothers and two sisters.
Services and burial will be private.
