Dorothy E. Harris, 103, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Providence Place, Chambersburg, with her daughters at her side.

She was born on July 13, 1921, in Newburg, a daughter of the late Charles P. and Mary (Watson) Fogelsanger. Dorothy was a 1939 graduate of Shippensburg Area High School. She married Howard D. Harris on April 19, 1940. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1997.

Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper at the former Shirtcraft Co. and also the Carlisle Livestock Market. She was of the Methodist faith and an active member of the Newburg United Methodist Church. Dorothy was also a former member of the Dessie Priscilla Rebekah Lodge #100, Newburg.

In her younger years, Dorothy enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and camping. She also loved crocheting and bird watching. Dorothy always had an interest in cars and motor vehicles and liked to drive; she once had her own moped and scooter. Most importantly, she wanted to spend as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Joyce Ann Guyer and husband James of Newburg and Christine M. Dick and husband Thomas of Shippensburg; four grandchildren, Jill Henninger and husband Jason of Shippensburg, Jennifer Fuhrman and husband Jeremy of Seven Valleys, Teresa Barrick and husband Rick of Newburg, and Robin Burkett and husband John of Newburg; five great grandchildren, Devin, Jensen, Jocelyn, Daphne, and Paige; two great-great grandchildren, Nova and Oliver; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Elsie Stouffer.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg. Pastor Kevin Brophy will officiate. Interment will follow in the Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Newburg United Methodist Church at 203 North High Street, Newburg, PA 17240.
