Dorothy Crouse

Dorothy M. Crouse, 98, of East Burd Street, Shippensburg, died Sunday, March 18, 2012 in her home.
Born Friday, May 16, 1913 in Cleversburg, she was a daughter of the late Charles Cephas and Dessie Strayer Naugle. In 1938 Dorothy married Clair Magee Crouse who preceded her in death in 1980.
Dorothy retired in 1978 from the maintenance staff at the Shippensburg University. She was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Shippensburg and a former member of the Cumberland County Farm Women’s Group # 10. Dorothy enjoyed quilting and crocheting.
Surviving is one son, Robert C. Crouse and his wife Joyce, Chambersburg, one daughter, Delores J. Jacoby and her husband Carroll, Shippensburg, one sister, Ann Flory and her husband Guy, Chambersburg, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth E. Crouse who died in 2011.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Grace United Church of Christ, Shippensburg, with the Rev. George W. Heckard officiating. Burial will be private in Spring Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service in the church.
