Dorine Elizabeth Barnhart, 83, of Chambersburg, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born Monday, November 9, 1936 in Carlisle, she was a daughter of the late Nelson Charles and Mary Alice Hockenberry Clugston.
Dorine was a 1954 graduate of the Big Spring High School. She retired in 1996 as the Head Cook from Lurgan Elementary School.
She was a member of the Green Spring First Church of God, Newville, which she loved very much, and was very involved on the Church Mission Board, and taught Sunday School Class.
She was also was a member of the Cumberland County Farm Women’s Group # 10, and enjoyed camping.
Dorine loved and cherished her family, especially her granddaughters.
Surviving is her husband of 62 years, Leonard A. Barnhart whom she married November 30, 1957; one daughter, Wanda Kay (Gregory) Epstein, Shippensburg; two granddaughters, Jessica L. and Olivia K. Epstein, both of Shippensburg; one sister, Mary Lou Shew, Newburg; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randall Barnhart; a daughter, Judy Barnhart; a brother, Edward Clugston; and a sister, Jean Barnhart
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 31, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in the Green Spring First Church of God, with Pastor Philip Steele officiating. Burial will be in the Green Spring First Church of God Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday in the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Green Spring First Church of God Mission Fund, 1140 Green Spring Road, Newville, PA 17241.
Those in attendance are asked to observe the recommendations pertaining to reducing the potential spread of Covid-19; by wearing masks, hand sanitizing, and social distancing as much as possible.
