Donna Rae Swartz, 80, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born on March 19, 1944, in Oakville, the daughter of the late John and Alice (Sites) Graham, Jr. Donna married Max Swartz on October 24, 1981, in the Oakville United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1994.
In her younger years, Donna worked as a seamstress at the former U-Wanna-Wash Frock Co. She also worked as a personal care aide at the former Pilgrim House and Cromer’s Personal Care Home.
Donna was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, Durff-Kuhn V.F.W. Post #6168, Minnequa Social Club, and the Vigilant Hose Co. #1 Ladies Auxiliary. In her free time she enjoyed yardsaling with her best-friend Janet, and spending time with her large family.
She is survived by her grandson, Rodney Sites and wife Angel of Shippensburg; great grandchildren, Casey Sites and wife Bailey, Kayla Dawley and husband Blake, Max-Elias Sites, and Kya Sites; great great grandchildren, Sonny, Lucas, Dennis, Reyah, and Odin; six children, Deb Cordell of Chambersburg, Max Swartz, Jr., of Newville, Sam Swartz and wife Janet of Shippensburg, Tim Swartz and wife Deb of Carlisle, Wendy Johnston and husband George of New Germantown, and Billy Swartz of Shippensburg; numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and spouse, Donna was preceded in death by four sons, John, Mike, Doug, and Jeff; a daughter, Sharon; and her brother, John Sites.
The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, has been entrusted with her funeral arrangements. There will be no public viewing, visitation, or funeral service, however, a celebration will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the Cleversburg Community Center. Donna will be laid to rest during a private graveside service, alongside her husband Max, in the Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg.
