Donna Mae Nye, 75, of Chambersburg, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born September 17, 1942 in Centerville, PA. Donna was a daughter of the late Earl S. and Jeannette N. Wyrick Beecher.
Donna started her career at Letterkenny Army Depot where she spent 39 years and became a Management Analyst. She retired at the age of 58 in 2000.
Donna was a member of the Mongul United Brethren Church where she served as Church Secretary and on the Board of Directors. She was a 1960 graduate of the Big Spring High School.
Her family was the joy of her life. Donna’s hobbies included reading, biking, walking, Sudoku, crossword puzzles, cooking, and her biggest pastime golfing. Donna was an avid golfer for 25 years. She also loved animals, especially dogs, and beautiful flowers.
Donna is survived by her husband of 56 ½ years, Jack E. Nye; her son, Jack E. “Jay” Nye of Baltimore; her daughter, Tracy (John) Sult of Baltimore; her granddaughter, Kelsey Roman of Chambersburg; two sisters, Joann Oboczky of Reading, and Sally (Rand) Kann of Newville; her brother, David Beecher of Shippensburg; her sister-in-law, Roberta Beecher of Shippensburg; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Beecher.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rick Fischl officiating. Burial will be in the Parklawns Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 9-11 a.m. in the funeral home.
