Donald Winters

Donald E. “Shorty” Winters, 83, of McCulloch Road, Shippensburg, passed away on the morning of Saturday, October 31, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born Sunday, May 8, 1932 in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, he was a son of the late Jacob Lawrence and Minnie Anna Mooney Winters.
Don was of the Protestant Faith. He retired in 1994 from the former Hoffman Mills in Shippensburg after 30 years of service. Don loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking, cooking, and traveling.
Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Twila D. Shearer Winters who he married, May 25, 1963, one son, Jacob D. (wife Cecilia) Winters, three daughters, Joyan M. (companion Michael) Lively, Dawn E. (companion Douglas) Winters, and Christina L. (husband Freddie) Clapsaddle, all of Shippensburg, five grandchildren, Tristan, Kaylee, Brayden, Jacob Jr., and Kenneth.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 5, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., with Chaplain Roger W. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
