Donald R. “Dick” Stouffer, 89, of Willow Drive, Shippensburg, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Friday, April 2, 1926 in Lurgan, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Frank Edwin and Laura Gertrude Baker Stouffer.
Dick was a United States Army Veteran serving in WWII. He retired in 1989 from SKF Industries after more than 41 years of service. He was a member of Mongul United Brethren Church, a member of Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 both in Shippensburg.
Surviving is his wife of 26 years, Alice Marie Runshaw Stouffer, two daughters, Betty S. (Ron) Gill, of Apache Junction, AZ, and Darlene M. (Ricky) Koons, of Sunbury, three step-sons, Randy L. (Donna) Cover, Ricky L. (Kristie) Cover, and Ryan E. (Merry) Cover, two step-daughters, Kimberly A. (Art) Grandmaison, and Karla Jo (Rick) Killian, all of Shippensburg, 19 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Edwin A. Stouffer who passed away in December 1995, his first wife, Helen E. Cover Stouffer, seven brothers, and eight sisters.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 7, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., with the Rev. Rocky W. Spear officiating. Burial will be in Mongul Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Shippensburg Area Veterans Council. A viewing will be held Thursday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
