Donald R. Shoap, 86, of Lakeland, FL, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 in Lakeland, FL.
He was born April 14, 1929 in Shippensburg. Donald was a son of the late Leslie D. and Hazel Diller Shoap.
Donald retired from the banking industry, working at both First National Bank in Shippensburg and Commonwealth National Bank in Harrisburg. Mr. Shoap was a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223, Shippensburg; a former member of the Shippensburg Rotary Club; and a long-time member of Grace United Church of Christ in Shippensburg. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Korean War, serving from 1951 until 1955. Donald was a 1947 graduate of the former Shippensburg High School.
Donald was married to Margaret E. (Jones) Shoap who resides in Lakeland, FL. They had one daughter, Donna, who preceded them in death. He has one brother, J. Kenneth Shoap, living in Shippensburg and a deceased brother, L. Richard Shoap.
