Donald Seibert

Donald L. Seibert, 85, of Shippensburg, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018, in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born June 19, 1932, in Dry Run, he was the son of the late John F. Seibert and Helen M. Price. He graduated from Shippensburg High School in 1950.

Don farmed the family dairy farm on Mainsville Road for most of his life, retiring in 1985. He then retired from Cressler Trucking, Shippensburg, in 1996.

Don was a lifelong member of Christ United Methodist Church, Shippensburg, serving on numerous committees. He also was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America and the Mason-Dixon Region of AACA, Fort Morris Chapter #3324 of AARP in Shippensburg and B.P.O. Elks Lodge #600 in Chambersburg. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Shippensburg for many years, and was a life member of Cumberland Valley Hose Company #2, Shippensburg.

He is survived by his wife, Doris (Florig) Seibert, whom he married November 22, 1958; two daughters, Carolyn Seibert-Drager (husband Michael Drager) and Lisa Miller (husband David), and two grandsons, Daniel Miller (wife Amber) and Travis Miller (wife Megan), all of Shippensburg; three brothers, John Seibert Jr. and Paul Seibert, both of Shippensburg, and Kenneth Seibert of Carlisle; three sisters, Pauline Hinkle of Shippensburg, M. Jane Alleman of Gettysburg and Gladys Morehouse of Mount Holly Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Robert and Frederick Seibert, and one sister, Louise Phenicie.

Services will be held Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 2 p.m. in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Shippensburg, with the Rev. Sandy Kraft presiding. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. A viewing will be held Wednesday, February 7, from 6–8 p.m. in the funeral home.
