Donald Pyne

Donald William Pyne, Sr., 82 of Newville, passed on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at his home.

Born April 3, 1941, in Newburg, he was the son of the late Charles L. and Mary Catherine (King) Pyne.

Donald was a 1959 graduate of the Shippensburg Senior High School. He attended the South Fairview First Church of God in Newville. Throughout his life he had a passion for hunting as well as working. He was a farmer for 23 years and then continued on to work for Valley Pride Bakery in Shippensburg.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Cheryl A. (Johnson) Pyne whom he married January 6, 2006; six children; Donald W. (Brenda) Pyne, Jr., Gregory S. (Judy) Pyne, all of Newburg, Lorraine K. (Bill) Miley, Chambersburg, Anne M. (Brian) Reidell, Middleburg, Charles B. (Christina) Pyne, Chambersburg, and Joseph J. (Rochelle) Pyne, Ft. McCord; four siblings, Catherine Stewart, Fred (Billie) Pyne, and John (Debbie) Pyne, all of Newburg, and Janet (Fred) Culbertson, Shippensburg; 23 grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the South Fairview First Church of God, Newville, with Pastor Kevin Dunlap officiating. Burial will be held privately in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday, June 23, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday, at the Church.
