Donald E. Grove, 75 of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in Manor Care, Carlisle.

Born Monday, October 12, 1936 in Letterkenny Township, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Roy E. and Ruth C. Hull Grove.

Donald was a 1954 graduate of the Shippensburg Senior Area High School.

He was employed by the former Fickes Silo’s in Newville, prior to serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In 1998 he retired from the Pennsylvania Turnpike as an equipment operator and later worked for Motter’s Silo’s in Carlisle.

Donald was a life member of both the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168, and the Minnequa Social Club and a member of the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 all in Shippensburg. Don was a life member of Big Spring Fish and Game Association, Newville, and the Orrstown Lodge # 262 F. & A.M.

Surviving is his companion Joanne D. Maus of Shippensburg, two daughters, Stacy L. Grove and her companion Marlin Motter, and Sarah E. Chestnut and her husband Brad all of Newville, one son Mark E. Grove and his wife Jennifer L. of Shippensburg, two brothers, Harold E. Grove of Newburg and Warren J. Grove of Shippensburg, one sister, Carleane E. Heberlig of Shippensburg, five grandchildren, one great grandson, and his companion’s children, Douglas and Pamela Maus of Shippensburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth H. and Richard E. Grove and one sister, Doris May Grove.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with Mr. Richard A. Dille officiating. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg Veterans Council. A viewing will be held Friday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic service being held at 7:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 100 East Dykeman Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
