Donald Gayman

Donald R. Gayman, 92, a resident of Menno Haven, Chambersburg, formerly of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012.
Born December 17, 1919 in Pleasant Hall, Franklin County, he was a son of the late Albert and Rebecca Eyer Gayman.
Donald retired from the Letterkenny Army Depot after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Orrstown. Donald was a life member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post # 6168 and the Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post # 223 both in Shippensburg, Orrstown Lodge # 262 F & A.M., Valley Forest # 145 Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Harrisburg Consistory, Shippensburg Scottish Rite Club, Washington Camp # 645 P.O.S. of A. in Orrstown. Donald was a member of NARFE and a graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one great grandson, Benjamin Ocker, and one brother, Harold E. Gayman.
He is survived by his wife, Kathryn H. Wise Gayman, one son, Dudley W. Gayman and his wife Karen L. of Lafayette, IN, one daughter, Donna R. Ocker of Fayetteville, five grandchildren, Lori Wroten, Michael and Gregory Ocker, Bryan and Jeffrey Gayman, and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg with The Rev. Kathleen G. Coleman officiating. Burial with military honors conducted by the Shippensburg VFW and American Legion Posts will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home with Masonic Services conducted by the Orrstown Lodge at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 3442 Orrstown Road, Orrstown, PA 17244.
