Donald C. Devor, Sr., 75, a resident of the Shippensburg Health Care Center, died on the evening of Friday, February 3, 2012, at the Health Care Center.
He was born on April 5, 1936, in Shippensburg, a son of the late Miles and Katherine Strayer Devor.
Years ago, Donald was employed as a Painter for M. Gordon & Sons, Harrisburg, PA. He was a life member of the Minnequa social club, Shippensburg.
He is survived by his former wife, Josephine Devor of Orrstown; four sons, Donald C. Devor, Jr of Chambersburg, James Devor of East Berlin, Bryan Devor of Roxbury, and John Devor of Orrstown; two brothers, Carl Devor of Harrisburg and Gary Devor of Shippensburg; four sisters, Lois Noel and Janell (Mrs. Edwin) Sprecher, both of Shippensburg, Dixie Summers of Alaska, and Kay Smith of Mercersburg; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Louise Brown, who died on June 3, 1968; one sister, Shirley Kuhlman; and one brother, Miles Devor, Jr.
As his wish, there will be no funeral service. Interment will be private. The Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Inc., has been entrusted with his funeral arrangements.
