Donald D. Deck, 74, of Alamogordo, NM, departed this world on August 4, 2018.
He was born on March 23, 1944, in Cumberland County, PA, a son of the late Robert C. & Fannie E. Durf Deck.
Don attended the Big Spring High School, Newville, and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961. He made his career in the Air Force with twenty years of service. Upon his retirement, he worked at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, NM, for ten years. He lived in Alamogordo, NM, his entire adult life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He is survived by his wife, Lugarda Jaramillo, of Alamogordo, NM; two daughters Yvette Deck Torres of Roy, UT, and Vanessa Deck Allen of Albuquerque, NM; numerous grandchildren; a brother, George H. Deck of Newburg, PA; and two sisters, Linda C. Johnson of Gardners, PA, and Myrtle E. Kriner, of Shippensburg, PA. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert E. Deck (2004), and Sidney R. Deck (2015); and a nephew Richard L. Johnson, II (2016).
A Celebration of Life was held on August 10, 2018, at the V.F.W. Post 7686, in Alamogordo, NM.
