Dolores Culbertson

Dolores M. Culbertson, 89, of Shippensburg, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Episcopal Home in Shippensburg.
Born Friday, November 9, 1928 in Shippensburg, she was a daughter of the late Austin G. and Munyon L. Boyce Kling Hockenberry.
Dolores was a member of the Shippensburg First Church of God, where she taught the Berean Sunday School Class and the Freedom in Christ Sunday School Class. She worked as a waitress at the Burkhart’s Restaurant and Select Restaurant, both in Shippensburg.
She is survived by one son, the Rev. John D. (wife Amy) Culbertson, Shippensburg, two daughters, Patricia (husband Roy) Tome, Mt. Joy, and Valerie (husband Clifford) Swartz, Orrstown, five grandchildren, Lori K. Swartz McElwain, Jodi M. Swartz-Rankin, James C. Swartz, Joram R. Culbertson, and Aaron A. Culbertson, eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dolores was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray E. Hays who died May 1, 1952, her second husband, John H. Culbertson, who died March 31, 2002, one brother, Wayne J. Kling, one sister, Gladys G. Nelson, and one grandson, Roy D. Tome.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Shippensburg First Church of God, with the Rev. Jim Rogers and Rev. Vivian Carbaugh officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc., and one hour prior to the service on Thursday in the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God, 121 East King Street, Shippensburg, PA 17257.
