Diana Strayer

September 14, 1942 — January 18, 2023

Diana B. Strayer, 80, of Shippensburg, passed away the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at the ProMedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Chambersburg.

She was born on September 15, 1942 in Chambersburg, a daughter of the late Gerald B. and Dorothy A. (Beltz) Strayer.

Diana worked at The Beistle Company for over 25 years and as an EMT for the C.V. Hose Company, Shippensburg. She was a member of the Durff-Kuhn VFW Post #6168 and Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post #223. Diana attended the Prince Street United Brethren Church and was very active in the Branch Creek Place (Shippensburg Area Senior Center). She loved watching her grandchildren in their sporting events and cherished spending time with her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Dodie J. (Mark Jones) Bishopp of Walnut Bottom; three grandchildren, Dannon (Marshall) Garrett of Texas, Lauren (Kyle) Jordan of North Carolina, and Cody Jones of Walnut Bottom; and five great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Vale Garrett, and Olivia, Liam, and Avery Jordan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dixie Whorley.

Private graveside services will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery. There will be no public viewing or visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made in Diana’s name to any animal shelter of one’s choosing.
