Dennis Burkholder

Dennis W. Burkholder, 60, of Shippensburg, died Thursday, March 5, 2015 in the Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Wednesday, November 10, 1954 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Wilbur K. and Laura M. Poper Burkholder.

Dennis was of the Protestant Faith. He was a 1974 graduate of the Shippensburg Area Senior High School. He retired from Volvo and was a former employee of Ingersoll Rand, Richard Textile and Affiliation Industries all in Shippensburg and Grove Manufacturing of Waynesboro.

Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and trap shooting with his brother, Howard “Red”. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

Surviving is two brothers, Howard K. Burkholder, Chambersburg and Ronald E. Burkholder, West Memphis, AK, seven sisters, Virginia M. Horn, Chambersburg, Betty Jane Burkholder, Frances J. Burkholder, Esther R. Burkholder, Linda M. Russell and Mary B. Burkholder all of Shippensburg, and Patricia A. Achord, Little Rock, AK and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc. with the Rev. Daniel E. Cluck officiating. Burial will be in the Air Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held Tuesday, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday in the funeral home.
